ASTRAL at Urban Riga Open Season 4: Tournament Recap

Home turf. Eight teams. One tournament. Urban Riga Open Season 4 took place on April 3–5, 2026 at AFK Sporta Klubs in Riga – and it was ASTRAL’s chance to make a statement in front of their own crowd. They came ready to fight for every round.

Group Stage

ASTRAL opened their campaign against Sangal in the Group A opening match. The first map, Dust2, was anything but straightforward — ASTRAL found themselves down 2-10 at halftime, seemingly on the verge of dropping the map. What followed was a remarkable comeback, winning round after round to eventually take Dust2 13-11.

Riding that momentum, ASTRAL closed out Mirage 13-10 to secure a convincing 2-0 and advance directly to the Winners’ match.

In the Winners’ match, ASTRAL faced Passion UA. The team fell short in a closely contested BO3, losing 0-2, 4-13 on Anubis and 3-13 on Inferno – and were sent to the Decider match.

Decider Match

In the Decider, ASTRAL met Sangal for the second time. This time the match went the full three maps. ASTRAL took Dust2 13-8, but Sangal responded on Inferno 13-3 and closed it out on Ancient 13-9. A tough 1-2 loss that ended ASTRAL’s run at the tournament.

Final Standing: 5-6th place

Urban Riga Open Season 4 was a tournament of contrasts for ASTRAL. The team showed real quality in the opening match, dispatching Sangal convincingly and proving they belong at this level.

The losses to Passion UA and Sangal in the later stages highlight the areas that still need work – particularly consistency across a full Best of 3.

5-6th place is not the result the team was aiming for, but the experience gained over three intense matches on LAN is exactly the kind of preparation that builds stronger teams. ASTRAL moves forward.
